I know I promised to write about the second episode of NBC's Ready For Love a couple of weeks ago. I also know I was really skeptical in my first post about the show. Well, I did end up watching the second episode and I was glad I did, until I found out it was cancelled. I actually really liked the second episode. It was what I had expected from the first episode. It highlighted what needed to be highlighted and didn't drag on. I think focusing on just one guy for the first episode was a bad move and might have been a reason as to its cancellation (low ratings usually make for a cancellation). I thought the guys and even most of the girls were very likable and think that the second episode should have aired first or all three guys should have been featured in one 2 hour episode in the first place. Also might I add these guys are H-O-T! LOL. Anyway, I was busy and it got cancelled so I debated even writing about it, but having insomnia has a way of making you rethink things. I know I didn't write many specifics but basically there is an ex involved that comes back which always adds that "twist" to the drama. It is such a weird show to cancel though since most of us who did tune in both times and got drawn in on the second and perhaps third episode probably want to see what happens at the end. Fortunately for us few, NBC did decide to at least post the remaining episodes online. I guess life moves on though.
On a side note having to do nothing with the show, but everything to do with readiness and love, I will try my best to post at least once a week here whether its about a show, makeup or whatever is going on in my life/catching my interest. When I finally think life is slowing down, I get bombarded with blessings that take up a lot of my time. However, my goal and tasks this summer are to concentrate on me and my own social media shenanigans (i.e. Youtube, twitter, Blog, getting my life in order).

Ready for Love Review

I tuned into the show because as a girl, I am always curious about dating type shows. I also tuned in because using matchmakers seemed like a nice twist to the typical dating shows and for once it seemed like these guys and girls were serious about dating.
At the beginning of the show I was pumped. It was the first time in days I was actually watching something not on my DVR. However, not even halfway into the show, I was bored. I ended up watching the whole thing regardless, but honestly I was using it more as background noise while I went through my emails and looked for some good pins for my Pinterest class project.
I really wanted to like the show, but it seemed to fizzle out shortly after choosing the girls. Maybe it's the fact that it took 2 hours to show the selection process and date of only one of the guys. The date was a nice idea, but there seemed to be little interaction between Tim and the girls, although we did get to see him talk to a few of them, it seemed more like a get together for the girls. It almost made it seem there was no chemistry between anyone.
I don't know, that's just my opinion. I like that they are trying to fall to the hands of making dramatic television and keeping it real, but at the same time they need to spice it up or at least execute it slightly better. I will tune in next week to see if it gets better, which I hope it does. Let's just hope it's not another two hours on one guy.

Reviewing My 2012 Resolutions
I know it may seem a bit late to post my New Year's Resolutions and I actually meant to do this earlier, but it's better late than never. Now that being said, this is my list of resolutions I will try my best to accomplish by December 31, 2012, but like all things in life, this process will surely be ongoing. I made this list back in February when reviewing what I had set as my goals at the beginning of the year and it was a way to help me keep focus on what those goals were. Now for the list:
1) Be more active-i.e. go the gym and do outdoor activities such as hiking
2) Eat Healthier-not dieting, just healthier options
3) Better time management- get things done on time and BE ON TIME!
4) Plan a fun activity at least once a month
5) Be more organized- in both my schedule and my space
6) Get my finances in order- make a budget and stick to it; pay down debt.
7) Try something new- I want to learn to sew and learn to play the guitar
8) Make a better effort in my person- I would like to stop dressing frumpy and look more put together daily.
9) Volunteer or participate in a charity event such as AIDSWALK LA
10) Put my best effort in my classes so that I can raise my GPA
11) Plan a trip- either a road trip or fly out somewhere I've never been before
12) Keep up with my Youtube videos and blogs
I know that may all seem like a lot but most go hand in hand and some are things I have already started working on. So far I have begun going to the gym much more than in 2011 and have been doing well in my classes so far. I am going to be focusing a lot more on my time management and eating habits right now until those become habit. Also, in terms of trying something new, although it is neither guitar nor sewing lessons, I am going to be trying out for my school's dance team which is something that I have never been a part of before nor have attempted before. So there you go. Please feel free to share your own resolutions or review of them below and also share any tips you may have on how I can accomplish mine.

Happy New Year!!!!
Wow can you believe 2011 is over??? It felt like it went by sooo fast, at least for me it did. I had my ups and downs, but I can't complain it was a pretty good year for me. Let's see, I got an awesome new job working as a nanny for a wonderful family with the cutest little girl ever, I got accepted to a new school, it went great for my boyfriend (Michael) and me, my family was awesome, I got a new camera, and other small things here and there. I am so ready for 2012 though, I have a feeling it is going to be an even better year. I don't know quite why yet, but I will find out and see. Now let's talk resolutions. I know that just because it is a new year doesn't mean that things are magically going to change or that one should only try to set goals for themselves when the new year rings in, but I feel that it is still a good start. One of the most popular resolutions, for men and women alike, is to lose weight and get fit. New Year is a great time to put this goal in gear since for the past 2 months the holidays have "allowed" us to cheat on diets and have kept us too busy and stuffed to make it to the gym or in front of the TV to workout.
Now my resolution(s) for the new year are quite simple. They are to: 1) Live life to the fullest, and 2) To take control of my life. Of course there are more specific goals within those resolutions, but this kind of keeps it simple for me and doable too. The more specific goals are to eat healthier, stay active (meaning not just going to the gym, but hiking, biking, and doing more activities like that), trying things even if I have to take risks or they are not exactly in my comfort zone, participating more in school activities (such as clubs and events), being more organized (not just with my room, but in life in general), sticking to commitments (especially the ones I have with myself), following my heart rather than doing (or not doing) things other want me to do, and improving on myself in other ways (such as taking the time to look nice everyday, rather than frumpy all the time). Most importantly though is that in the end, through these 2 main resolutions, I find happiness and harmony and balance within myself.
So yea, that is basically what I hope to accomplish for this year, as I enter my "true" adult life, now that this year I am turning 21 (yikes, now I feel slightly old LOL). I would be happy to hear what everyone else hopes to accomplish within this year. Also, if you follow me on Youtube, I am doing Vlogyear, which I hope keeps me in line (so to speak) and motivates me to better commit to this blog. I hope you check it out and I will also be better at posting on my makeup channel as well. For the Vlogyear daily vlogs, the link is: http://www.youtube.com/user/krazychix16vlog and for my Makeup channel the link is: http://www.youtube.com/user/krazychix16
Please check those out and leave comments. Also share your goals for the years on here (or there) and let me know what's up!
Resoluting and Hopeful,
Astrid <3
